Understand behaviour, identify what may be contributing to behaviours of concern, and explore positive, person-centred strategies that support safety, communication, independence and quality of life. If you are seeking NDIS positive behaviour support in WA, NSW or elsewhere in Australia, speak with GNA Services about your needs and the appropriate next steps.
From initial assessment to ongoing support, we provide a full range of behaviour support services tailored to individual needs.
NDIS positive behaviour support focuses on understanding why behaviour occurs and what the person may be communicating or experiencing. The aim is to improve quality of life, build useful skills and create environments that better meet the person’s needs rather than simply trying to stop behaviour.
Look at the person, their circumstances, communication, environment and what may be influencing the behaviour.
Support should respect the person’s rights, preferences, autonomy and individual circumstances.
Participants, families, carers, support workers and relevant professionals can contribute valuable information and help create consistency.
Positive strategies should support meaningful skills, participation, relationships, safety and greater independence over time.
We provide specialist behaviour support for people with a range of disabilities and conditions.
Experienced support for individuals on the autism spectrum, addressing sensory needs, communication, and social interactions.
Tailored strategies that account for cognitive processing, communication styles, and learning needs.
Specialist support for behaviour changes following brain injury, with understanding of neurological factors.
Support for frustration and communication barriers that can arise from physical limitations.
Age-appropriate strategies working closely with families and schools.
Trauma-informed support for those with mental health conditions affecting behaviour.
Behaviour support is funded under Capacity Building — CB Improved Relationships. We charge strictly in line with the official NDIS Pricing Arrangements & Price Limits for registered behaviour support providers — no hidden fees, no surprises.
Behaviour support pricing depends on practitioner level (Core, Proficient, Advanced or Specialist), the type of work (face-to-face, assessments, report writing, training), and the goals in your plan.
Rather than a one-size-fits-all price list, we'll review your plan and goals with you and provide a transparent quote — written, itemised, and easy to compare.

NDIS positive behaviour support is a person-centred approach that seeks to understand why behaviours occur and how a person can be better supported to meet their needs. Strategies may involve skill building, communication support, environmental changes and a behaviour support plan designed around the individual.
Specialist behaviour support providers must be registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission for registration group 0110 Specialist positive behaviour support. Behaviour support assessments and behaviour support plans must be undertaken by an NDIS behaviour support practitioner whom the Commission considers suitable for that work.
A functional behaviour assessment helps understand the purpose or function behind behaviour. It can involve observations, information gathering and analysis of the circumstances that trigger or maintain behaviour, with the findings used to inform comprehensive behaviour support planning.
Regulated restrictive practices restrict a person’s rights or freedom of movement and are subject to strict safeguards. Where they are used, applicable authorisation requirements must be followed, and strategies should work towards reducing and eliminating their use wherever possible.
Behaviour support plans and behaviour supports may be included within the NDIS Capacity Building category Improved Relationships. Your available funding depends on your individual plan. Review your plan and speak with your support coordinator, NDIS contact or an appropriately registered specialist behaviour support provider if you need help understanding your options.
