Community Participation FAQs

Depending on your plan, assistance with social and community participation may be available through Core Supports. Capacity Building funding for Increased Social and Community Participation may support skill-building, social connection and greater independence. Your available funding and support must match your NDIS plan and current NDIS rules.

Support may be provided individually or through suitable group activities. The right option depends on your goals, preferences, NDIS funding, support needs and what is available in your area.

Not automatically. Depending on your NDIS plan and circumstances, transport may involve separate transport funding, recurring transport supports or agreed activity-based transport. GNA Services can explain the transport arrangements that apply before support begins.

Assistance with social and community participation can support activities such as community groups, hobbies, recreation, sport, volunteering or other social activities related to your goals. Your NDIS funding generally covers eligible disability-related support rather than ordinary personal costs that everyone would normally pay for an activity.

GNA Services accepts enquiries from participants across its Australian service areas, including Western Australia and New South Wales. The website lists locations in Perth, Kalgoorlie, Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne. Community participation availability varies by area, so contact the team with your suburb and support needs to confirm current options.
